William "Bill" Joseph Walters

November 11, 1949 — October 3, 2025

Mansfield

William Joseph Walters, age 75, of Mansfield, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was married to the love of his life, Marcia L. Harding, creating a loving and tight-knit family together. Born November 11, 1949, in Terre Haute, Indiana, he was the son of the late William & Wanda (Lemons) Walters.

Affectionately known as Bill, he was a man of strong faith, devotion, work ethic, and integrity. He served as military police in the Army National Guard and served as plant manager at Ward Manufacturing in Blossburg for 14 years, prior to his retirement. Outside of his professional life, Bill had several hobbies, including gardening, cooking, woodworking, and fishing, especially his annual fishing trips to the Bahamas with his favorite pilot and fishing buddy, Anthony DelMastro. He was also gifted with a keen eye for detail and meticulously talented hands, creating several quality, handmade items including fly rods, woodworking projects, and blacksmith artwork. Bill cherished every moment with the beautiful, blended family he and Marcia created together. He had a special love for children and animals, generally giving all others the benefit of the doubt as well. Bill’s hardworking, yet kind-hearted and gracious nature will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marcia Harding, of Covington; children, James Walters, of Terre Haute, IN, Beth (John-Mark) Romans, of Richmond Hill, GA, and Charles Walters, of California; grandchildren, Caleb (Mia), Cannon, Spencer, Gabe, and Luke; sister, Linda (David) Krause, of Longmont, CO; two special nieces, Laura Lisak (Eric Giles), of Baltimore, and Aliah Meyer, of Covington; very special extended family, Jean (Ed) Knapp, Sue (Scott) Henry, Karen Hesselbach, Phyllis (Bill) Magnotta, Cindy (Scott) House, Jill (Jaime) Logan; mother of his children, Sonja Thurston; four legged companions, Mackie & Criston; and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bill’s name to either the Humble Bumble Project, www.humblebumbleproject.com/donate, in efforts to prevent and treat pediatric cancer, or the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, 725 Gee Road, Tioga, PA 16946.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 5-7 p.m., at Wilston-Currie Funeral Home, 130 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA 16933.
