Wellsboro

Roger E. Preble, 52, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 20th, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease. He was surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born on May 27, 1972, in Elmira, NY, and grew up in Millerton, PA, where he attended Williamson High School.

Roger was known for his infectious sense of humor, quick wit, and his ability to bring a smile to everyone he encountered. Whether with family or friends, he always found a way to brighten the room. Roger had a deep love for music, which served as the soundtrack of his life—a melody that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him. He was also a passionate supporter of the Buffalo Bills and enjoyed sharing this love with those around him.

Roger had a dedicated career as a Correction Officer, working for many years at both the Potter and Tioga County Prisons. After his medical retirement, he maintained strong and lasting bonds with many of his fellow officers.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Stacey; his son, Zachary (Elisa) Lawson of Clarksville, TX; his daughters, Christiana (Josh) Bloom of Sabinsville, PA, and Rebecca Carr of Tioga, PA; two brothers, Darryl (Robin) Preble of Endicott, NY, and Wayne Preble of Falmouth, KY; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Zoey, Lexi, Rileigh, Eli, and Noah. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Roger was predeceased by his father, Milan Preble; his mother, Ruth (Rouse) Preble; and his grandson, Alekzander Moran.

A memorial celebration of Roger’s life will be held in the upcoming weeks. The date and details will be announced soon, and funeral arrangements are entrusted to Wilston-Currie Funeral Home, Mansfield, www.wilstoncurriefh.com.
