Rick V. Fisher, age 65, of Blossburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. Born January 24, 1959, in Wellsboro, he was the son of the late Dalton Fisher and Roberta Cavanaugh.
Referred to as the “Legend” by friends and acquaintances in the Blossburg area, Rick had a special and unique greeting for each person he encountered. Whether it be a smile, handshake, hug, or even smooches for a certain few. He could often be found galivanting to and from his preferred destination, Jim’s Service Center, in pursuit of one, or all, of his favorite things, Candy, Soda, and Money! In addition to his top three desires, Rick also enjoyed being outside, going on trips, a good burger and fries, and watching television, especially COPS. Any limitations or impairments Rick may have had in life were heavily outweighed by his love, compassion, and ability to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. He will be dearly missed by his friends, residents, and staff at the Martha Lloyd Bloss House.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Rick’s name to the Tioga County Special Olympics, PO Box 534, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 9 – 10 a.m., at Wilston-Currie Funeral Home, 130 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA 16933. Rick’s funeral service will immediately follow the viewing hour at 10:00 a.m., with Life Celebrant, Tyler Currie, officiating. He will then be laid to rest in Arbon Cemetery, Blossburg, www.wilstoncurriefh.com.
