Richard Lee Wood, age 80, of Millerton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Bradford Hills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Troy, PA. Born May 25, 1944, in Sayre, PA, he was a son of the late Herman and Betsy (Woodruff) Wood.
Richard was a hard-working man who worked for a few local companies including, Kennedy Valve, Shulman Recycling Center and within the natural gas industry. However, his lifelong career and true passion was farming, having worked for several local dairy farms over the years. He loved to hunt and fish, enjoying several hunting and fishing trips with friends and family. He also enjoyed watching older wartime and western movies. Richard was a kind-hearted man, who was quick to help anyone need, and loved gathering with local friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky & Debra Wood, of Millerton; grandchildren, Tyler Wood and Brittany Weed; five great-grandchildren, and one on the way; several nieces & nephews; and many dear friends.
Richard’s funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of his family. He will be laid to rest in Jobs Corners Cemetery in Millerton. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Wilston-Currie Funeral Home, Mansfield, www.wilstoncurriefh.com.
