Lois Elaine (Hill) Corwin

Lois Elaine (Hill) Corwin, age 96, of Wellsboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, at UPMC Wellsboro Soldiers & Sailors Hospital. She married Robert Nelson Corwin on November 10, 1984, sharing over 40 years of marriage together. Born April 1, 1929, in Covington, PA, she was a daughter of the late John A. & Grace R. (Rogers) Hill.

Lois spent most of her career in the retail and sales industries, having served 13 years at Paxson’s Ben Franklin, and 15 years managing at the E.F. Mosher’s 5 & 10 store, both formerly of Wellsboro. Her and her husband, Robert, also took great pride in owning and operating a personal care home by the name of Corwin’s Country Haven, housing 15 years of precious memories and wonderful tenants. She was always active in the church as a devout Christian, serving as a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader most of her life. Some additional hobbies included crocheting, crafting, and cooking for family and friends. Lois loved & cherished her family and was always willing to help others in need.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Robert N. Corwin, of Wellsboro; daughters, Phyllis (Dennis) Bliss, of Wellsboro, and Lula (Ray) Youmans, of Muncy; step-daughter, Helen (Doug) Brensinger; step-sons, John (Daureen) Corwin, Donald (Pam) Corwin, Robert (Debbie) Corwin, Randy (Therese) Corwin, and William (Angel) Corwin; over 100 grandchildren, great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sally Howe and Sharon Taft; several nieces & nephews; and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy and Ruby; four brothers, Harry, James, John, Jr., and Hildreth Hill; an infant daughter, Betty Jean Wagner; her first husband, Kenneth Wagner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lois’s name to either the Charleston Baptist Church 423 Dartt Settlement Rd, Wellsboro, PA 16901, or to the Heart of Tioga, 14072 US Route 6, Mansfield, PA 16933.

A family memorial service, to honor and celebrate Lois, will be held on Saturday, November 22, 11:00 a.m., at Charleston Baptist Church, 423 Dartt Settlement Rd, Wellsboro, with Pastor Brad Prouty officiating.
