JoAnne Schanbacher Davis

JoAnne Schanbacher Davis, age 84, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Bradford Hills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Troy, PA. Born March 30, 1940, in Blossburg, she was a daughter of the late Chester & Theodosia (TenEyck) Schanbacher. She was retired from Mansfield University and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield and the Mansfield Garden Club. 

She is survived by two sons, David Benson, of Scipio Center, NY, and Mark Benson, of Newport News, VA; granddaughter, Vanessa Havens, and great grandson, Rowdy Havens; sister, Jean Schanbacher, of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister-in-law, Patricia Schanbacher; and special friend, Pattie Kendrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Allen Schanbacher in 2017.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in JoAnne’s name to the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield, 67 E. Wellsboro St., Mansfield, PA 16933.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Wilston-Currie Funeral Home, 130 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA 16933. JoAnne’s funeral service will immediately follow viewing hours at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Edward Preston officiating. She will be laid to rest in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Mansfield, www.wilstoncurriefh.com.
