Duane T. Frost

Duane T. Frost, age 95, of Covington, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Green Home in Wellsboro, PA. Born on December 29, 1929, in Covington, he was the son of the late Samuel and Julia (Hagar) Frost. Duane shared 41 years of marriage with Onolee B. Swan before her passing in 1993.

Duane was a graduate of Mansfield High School and excelled in sports, especially basketball. He served in the United States Army in Japan during the Korean War. He and his wife owned and operated the Tioga County Candy Company in Covington for over twenty years. Duane truly enjoyed meeting the customers of the Candy Company, always taking the time to connect and share a friendly word.

He was a member of the Covington United Methodist Church and belonged to the Mansfield chapter of the International Order of Oddfellows. He participated in a Maple Lanes bowling league in Mansfield, and also enjoyed hunting, golf, camping, reading, and playing cards. Above all, he was a proud father and grandfather whose love and generosity will be missed by all.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Robert Runco of Bellefonte, PA, Nancy and Jim Tate of West Chester, PA and Lori and Evan Perry of Mansfield, PA; his grandchildren, Dr. Erin (Dr. Eric) Melnychuk, Emily (Michael) Hull, and CPT Jamison Tate, MD (Dr. Larissa Tate); great grandchildren, Lionel and Onalea Hull, and Liliana Melnychuk; sister, LaVonne McNett of Canton, PA; treasured nieces and nephews; and dear friends.
