Anne Marie Clark

August 11, 1938 — May 29, 2025

Roseville

Anne Marie Harris Clark, age 86, of Roseville, passed away on May 29, 2025, at home. Anne was born on August 11, 1938, in Mansfield, PA. She was the second of four daughters of Thomas G. and H. Louise Palmer Harris. Annie grew up in Roseville, PA, in a home filled with music, went to school in a one room schoolhouse in Roseville, and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart, Philip Clark, on September 8, 1956, and moved with him to Arizona while he served in the Army. They returned to Roseville in 1960 with their two daughters, Jeanne and Janelle, and settled down on the old Palmer farm, where she resided until her death. Soon after coming to Roseville, sons, Tim and Martin, were born. During the time when her children were young, Annie worked with Phil raising sheep on the farm, while also supervising church socials with the Roseville United Methodist Church on The Green, leading the youth group, playing the piano for church services and weddings, and making sure her children could and would sing together.

For Roseville’s annual Old Home Day, Annie chaired the meals, directed the Rinky Dinks and performed at the talent show with her bosom buddy and sister, Alene. The 1970s brought another son, Tom, to the family, more work driving school bus, a job at the Pine City Veterinary Clinic, as well as a transition to dairy farming. Annie was elected as the first female member of the Tioga County Fair Board. Officially Fair Secretary, Annie went above and beyond and was instrumental in producing a fair that was well-organized and displayed the best of Tioga County agriculture. Her greatest gift in this role was bringing like-minded, gifted, motivated, people together to accomplish this goal. Her success brought more responsibility, as she began judging at other county fairs and the Pennsylvania State Farm Show. She served as the first woman on the Pennsylvania State Fair Association Board and was recognized locally and nationally for her work promoting agriculture.

Annie loved and cherished her family and friends and her community both far and wide, serving them whenever she could. She has long been telling her family that it is time for her to go home, and she is now, indeed, at Home, at Peace.

Annie is survived by her husband, Phil, her children, Jeanne Sauer of Roseville, Janelle (Rick) Davis of Little Marsh, Timothy (Rachel) Clark of Isleham, Cambridgeshire, England, Martin (Elizabeth) Clark of Marquette, Michigan, and Thomas (Chevonne) Clark of Anchor Point, AK and her 14 grandchildren: Kathryn (Jesse Lose) Tice, Jessica Tice, Stephen (Rachael) Davis, Nathan (Alyssa) Davis, Laureen (Drew) Wolgemuth, Tristan (Evelyn) Davis, Taylor (Matt) Sampson, Leah (Phillip) Weavers, Samuel (Amy) Clark, Jeffrey (Becky) Clark, Ashley (Jake) Brintlinger, Allison Clark, Alexander Clark and Katherine (Gannon) Holland. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren: Colton, Elizabeth, Lydia, Connor, Milayna, Aliza, Elsie, Vida, Natalie, Blake, Grant, Easton, Elijah, Eden, Travis, Eli, Elvi, and Liina. Her sisters, Alene York and Ellen Dreese, survive as well as brother-in-law, David M. Clark, and sisters-in-law, Linda Lawton and Phyllis Mooney.

Annie is predeceased by her sister, Linda Baker, brothers-in-law, George (Bud) Baker, Roger York, Richard (Rick) Clark and Allen Mooney, and a nephew, Shawn Baker.
